Base Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 2 t vanilla
- ½ t salt
- 1 egg
- 2 ½ cups flour
Filling Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 T cinnamon
- 2 T flour
- 3 T butter, melted
Cinnamon Glaze Ingredients:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 ½ t cinnamon
- ½ t vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 3-4 T heavy cream or milk
Directions:
- Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with baking spray.
- Cream together butter and brown sugar. Add egg and mix.
- Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt and mix until just combined.
- Gradually add in the flour, mixing until just incorporated.
- Divide the dough in half. Firmly press one half into the base of the pan. Shape the other half into a 8×8 square and set aside.
- Mix together all of the filling ingredients and evenly spread over the dough in the pan.
- Place the other half the dough on top of the filling and press down gently to secure it.
- Bake at 325° for 30-40 minutes or until it is slightly golden brown and feels set to the touch.
- Mix together all the glaze ingredients. Pour the glaze over the bars evenly once cooled and allow the glaze to set.
