Garlic Naan

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 2 t sugar
  • 1 ½ t yeast
  • ¾ cup milk, warm
  • ¾ cup plain greek yogurt
  • ½ cup vegetable oil, plus more for cooking
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 t salt
  • Fresh parsley, minced, for topping

Directions:

  1. Combine water, sugar, and yeast and let bloom.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix with your hands or a spoon until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Lightly grease a bowl and place the dough in it and cover to let rest for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Roll each piece out into a large oval, about ⅛-inch thick.
  6. Heat a large skillet with a small amount of oil and cook the naan for about 1-2 minutes per side. You will know the first side is done when  large bubbles form and it gets golden brown. If needed, before flipping, brush the raw side with oil.
  7. To keep the naan warm as you work to cook the rest, wrap them in a kitchen towel.
  8. Top with minced parsley.
