Ingredients:
- 2 cups peaches (if frozen, thaw and drain)
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup flour
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 t baking powder
- ¼ t salt
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 egg
- ¼ t vanilla
- ½ t cinnamon
- ¼ t nutmeg
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- Ice cream for serving
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°.
- Put the butter in a 9 inch glass dish and place in the oven until melted.
- Mix flour, 2/3 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add milk and egg to the flour mixture and stir to combine.
- Pour batter over melted butter in the glass dish (do not stir).
- Put the peaches in a bowl and add ⅓ cup sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg and stir to combine.
- Spoon peaches gently over batter (do not stir).
- Sprinkle brown sugar over top of the peaches and batter.
- Bake the cobbler for 40-45 minutes or until the batter is golden brown.
- Finish with a minute on broil to give it crispiness.
- Serve warm with ice cream.
