Peach Cobbler

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups peaches (if frozen, thaw and drain) 
  • ¼ cup butter 
  • ½ cup flour 
  • 1 cup sugar, divided 
  • 1 t baking powder 
  • ¼ t salt 
  • ⅓ cup milk 
  • 1 egg 
  • ¼ t vanilla 
  • ½ t cinnamon 
  • ¼ t nutmeg 
  • ¼ cup brown sugar 
  • Ice cream for serving 

Directions: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°. 
  2. Put the butter in a 9 inch glass dish and place in the oven until melted. 
  3. Mix flour, 2/3 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. 
  4. Add milk and egg to the flour mixture and stir to combine. 
  5. Pour batter over melted butter in the glass dish (do not stir).
  6. Put the peaches in a bowl and add ⅓ cup sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg and stir to combine. 
  7. Spoon peaches gently over batter (do not stir). 
  8. Sprinkle brown sugar over top of the peaches and batter. 
  9. Bake the cobbler for 40-45 minutes or until the batter is golden brown. 
  10. Finish with a minute on broil to give it crispiness. 
  11. Serve warm with ice cream.
