Petite Vanilla Scones

Scone Ingredients: 

  • 2 ½ cups flour 
  • ½ cup sugar 
  • 1 T baking powder 
  • ¼ t salt 
  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed 
  • ½ cup heavy cream 
  • 1 egg 
  • 2 t vanilla 

Scone Directions: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°. 
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicone mat. 
  3. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a food processor and pulse to mix. 
  4. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles cornmeal texture. 
  5. In a different bowl, whisk together cream, egg, and vanilla. 
  6. Add liquid to the flour mixture and pulse until just combined. 
  7. Put the dough onto a floured surface then knead briefly until dough comes together. 
  8. Roll out dough to about 1/2 inch thick. 
  9. Cut dough into triangles. 
  10. Place on a prepared baking sheet and bake 10-12 or until the edges begin to get golden brown. 
  11. Cool completely before glazing. 

Glaze Ingredients: 

  • 3 cups powdered sugar 
  • 6-7 T heavy cream 
  • 1 t vanilla 

Glaze Directions: 

  1. Whisk together all ingredients. 
  2. Glaze scones.
