Scone Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 T baking powder
- ¼ t salt
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 egg
- 2 t vanilla
Scone Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicone mat.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a food processor and pulse to mix.
- Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles cornmeal texture.
- In a different bowl, whisk together cream, egg, and vanilla.
- Add liquid to the flour mixture and pulse until just combined.
- Put the dough onto a floured surface then knead briefly until dough comes together.
- Roll out dough to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut dough into triangles.
- Place on a prepared baking sheet and bake 10-12 or until the edges begin to get golden brown.
- Cool completely before glazing.
Glaze Ingredients:
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 6-7 T heavy cream
- 1 t vanilla
Glaze Directions:
- Whisk together all ingredients.
- Glaze scones.
