Ingredients:
- 2 cups sushi rice, rinsed
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon neutral oil
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Place rice and water into a pot that has a lid.
- Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
- Simmer with the lid on for about 15-20 minutes or until your rice is cooked.
- Combine the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Pour rice into a heat safe bowl. Top with vinegar mixture and stir.
- As the rice cools, it will absorb the liquid.
- Once rice is room temperature, make nigiri, sushi rolls, crispy rice, etc.
