Ingredients:
- 3 cups vinegar
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 T salt
- Vegetables of your choosing, sliced however you want.
- Optional: seasonings/add ins of your choosing
Directions:
- Simmer the vinegar, water, sugar, and salt until the sugar and salt dissolve.
- Place cut up vegetables in jars.
- Add whatever seasonings and add ins you want.
- Pour liquid in the jars until all of the vegetables are submerged.
- Keep in fridge for several days. (Onions take about 2 days, pickles take about 3-6 days depending on the slices, jalapeños take about 1 week until they are a bit milder, etc.) You can keep shaking the jars and tasting them until they are as “pickled” as you like.
Notes:
Seasonings and add ins: garlic cloves or powder, peppercorns, paprika, dill, banana peppers mixed with cucumbers, chili powder, etc.
