Ingredients:
- 1.5 lb flank steak, sliced thin
- 3-5 cups broccoli florets (depends on preference)
- ~1/2 cup water, divided
- 1.5 T cornstarch
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 T grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 T sesame oil
- 2 T oyster sauce
- 1/4 cup sriracha, optional
- salt and pepper to taste
- EVOO to cook
Directions:
- Heat a pan or wok with about 2 T EVOO on medium heat
- Add broccoli to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes.
- Add about 2 T water to the broccoli and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the broccoli is almost tender (it will cook more once added back in with the sauce).
- Take the broccoli out of the pan and set to the side.
- Add another 2 T EVOO to the pan and turn up the heat to medium high. Add the sliced steak and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Whisk together the rest of the ingredients to make the sauce.
- Turn the heat down to medium low and add the sauce and broccoli to the pan, tossing until desired consistency, about 2-4 minutes.
- Serve over rice and add sesame seeds and red pepper flakes, if desired.
